Our recent grand opening of the first-ever Eric Dickerson Learning Center was a tremendous success, as was the fundraising program we launched during the April 5-7 event. So far, we have raised just over $400,000 to create this incredible program.

Our first center – located at The Residences of Diamond Hill in Ft. Worth, Texas – is just the initial stage of this new feature of our highly successful Building Bright Futures program.

Building Bright Futures focuses on supporting children in their academic journeys:

  • Our free after-school program provides homework help and tutoring and reinforces literacy. Speakers spark interest in college and careers.
  • Summer school programs combat the summer slide in learning.
  • Backpack giveaways equip schoolchildren for their academic journeys.
  • And our scholarship program helps ease the way to higher education.

The Eric Dickerson Learning Center takes us into new territory, guiding youths through leadership training and mentoring while sparking their imaginations with new hands-on enrichment in the sciences, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM). At the Eric Dickerson Learning Center, children are encouraged to imagine the possibilities of our quickly changing world.

You’ll be hearing a lot more about this effort as we work to identify locations for the next centers – and continue seeking support from our communities in California and Texas for the right tools to spark discovery.
