April’s CORE Week programming included a special event on autism education. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that shapes how an individual experiences, communicates and interacts with the world. Autism is also referenced as a spectrum because no two people experience the condition in the same way. Each person navigates a unique blend of strengths and challenges. April is dedicated to autism education. Recently, autism advocates have shifted the month’s focus away from awareness and toward acceptance to emphasize inclusion and respect for people about neurodiversity
