Everything at National CORE’s Las Dahlias radiates warmth, from the vibrant mural that welcomes everyone at the entrance to Kimberly Manzo’s beaming smile.
As property manager, Kimberly ensures that everything runs smoothly – helping residents complete their re-certifications, delivering vital resources and fostering a joyful, supportive environment.
“I love helping families move into their new home at Las Dahlias,” Kimberly said. “I want to make sure that residents find what they need to thrive.”
For her passion, positive attitude and infectious energy, Kimberly received the Spirit and Enthusiasm award for the fourth quarter of 2024.
Kimberly’s path to property management began after she retired from a 15-year career as a kindergarten teacher. Her deep empathy led her to the affordable housing industry, especially after witnessing growing housing instability in Los Angeles. First-hand experience with financial struggles ignited her passion to help underserved communities.
In 2022, Kimberly transitioned to property management at a tax credit community in Los Angeles, where she honed her skills. By late 2023, she was on National CORE’s team and, in just over a year, has become a cornerstone of Las Dahlias’ success, which is palpable to everyone who enters the community.
“I don’t judge the residents for their past because I see myself in them,” she said. “Being a single mother, I understand their struggles. Their stories have really touched me, and I wish I had known about the resources available when I was juggling two to three jobs to make ends meet. Now, I am here to provide those very resources to my residents.”
Her commitment does not go unnoticed. Kimberly works closely with Zandria Smith, the Regional Property Manager for Los Angeles, who admires her strong work ethic.
“Kimberly has shown determination and amazing leadership at Las Dahlias,” Zandria said. “The support she gives her team and residents, alike, is nothing short of exceptional. Having her on the team has truly been a privilege – with her big heart she will continue to flourish.”
Congratulations, Kimberly!
