Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration dedicated to uplifting and recognizing the rich history and culture of Latinos in the United States.

On Sept. 16, we kicked off Latino Heritage Month by highlighting Honduras. Risk Management Assistant Nereyda Cardenas showcased the delectable food and vibrant music from the country. Sept. 19 featured a dessert bar displaying an array of Cuban style desserts, including sweet and savory empanadas and creamy flan. We finished the week with a luncheon where employees crafted their own tacos – estilo Mexico.

But that’s not all! The Affinity Groups held a discussion panel where chairs highlighted the value of these spaces, their experiences and the opportunities that come with being engaged with colleagues around identity and shared interests. The Disability Awareness Affinity Group offered team members an opportunity to learn basic sign language and meet with sign language interpreters.
