Jaclyn Murphy’s love for human connection shines through every time she links a volunteer with a National CORE resident.

“I love being able to see our volunteers’ faces and our residents’ faces light up when they are connecting,” said Jaclyn, Hope through Housing’s volunteer coordinator. “It’s amazing to be able to connect people with seniors, kids or families and see their time really make a difference.”

For her dedication to delivering top quality service, Jaclyn earned the Best in Class award for the first quarter of 2024.

“Making connections is part of my job but what I enjoy the most is seeing how a conversation or a presentation can really touch someone,” she said.

Since joining Hope through Housing two years ago, Jaclyn has fostered connections with individuals across our communities as well as major corporate entities such as Bank of America, Chase Bank, Amazon and Target, which now regularly attend activities geared toward cultivating community and meeting our residents’ needs.

She is always on the go – traveling from L.A. to San Diego and the Inland Empire to Orange County to help bring to life the ideas dreamed up by service coordinators and property managers. She delivers the volunteers who make plans for community room beautifications, holiday celebrations, food distributions, career conversations, read with kids events and so much more become a reality.

“Jaclyn is very good at identifying our needs,” said Stephanie Joseph, Sunset Heights’ service coordinator. “She makes sure that we receive volunteers that are interested in our activities and our communities.”

She is committed to supplying the best volunteers so that service coordinators can have successful events, Stephanie added

“Volunteers allow us to broaden our bandwidth,” she said. “But these opportunities are not just for the residents or to help the service coordinators – they also allow volunteers to discover their interests and give back.”

Congratulations, Jaclyn!
