National CORE held two grand openings for new affordable housing communities in May – a strong sign of the incredible pace of new construction underway across our portfolio. First, in Placentia, we celebrated the opening of Santa Angelina, a 65-apartment senior community on the campus of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament.
Santa Angelina’s event, more than 200 guests, is the first of three collaborations with the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. The development includes 21 apartments for seniors who have experienced homelessness or who were at risk of becoming homeless.
Next, in Riverside, we celebrated the opening of Vista de La Sierra, an 80-apartment family community created in partnership with the Seventh-day Adventist church. The community includes 39 homes for residents who have faced homelessness.
