National CORE employees and residents recognized Black History Month with an array of activities and programs. These included an exploration of Black artists, trivia contests, sharing of perspectives, movie screenings and cuisine.
Regional Property Manager Zandria Smith also invited employees to share their experiences as a way to acknowledge the rich tapestry of African America experiences. Responses shared how important it is to show love to the community and uncover lost or hidden history, recognized the interconnectedness of struggles against discrimination and probed whether there are ways other than designating a month to honor our rich history.
We hope this becomes an ongoing dialogue and celebration of our culture and diversity that continues throughout the year.
Thank you for sharing!
