When you walk into Mountainside, chances are you’ll hear laughter before you even spot Josephine – that’s the kind of energy she brings wherever she goes. Josephine leads with grit and genuine care for her team. Her drive to make work a little brighter and a little easier for everyone is what makes her shine.
During a tough department transition earlier this year, when tensions could have easily taken over, Josephine stepped in with creativity and calm. She started a “shout-out board” to celebrate team wins – a small idea that turned into a big morale booster.
“I can’t say enough about Josephine,” said Regional Property Manager Luana Lemus. “Her willingness to help doesn’t go unnoticed. She’s the heart behind the hustle.”
And when a new software rollout had everyone nervous? Josephine’s favorite phrase, “Let’s figure it out together,” became the team’s unofficial motto. Her optimism changed a stressful experience into something collaborative – and even fun.
“I really try to help everyone I can,” Josephine said. “I stress-bake for my team, and if that doesn’t do the trick, I walk around making jokes to lighten things up. I just want my team to know we can get through anything together.”
That outlook comes from her roots. As the eldest of five siblings in a large, close-knit family – including 20 cousins living on the same property – Josephine learned early that when people work together, anything’s possible.
“The people I work with make it all worthwhile,” she said.
