Recently, National CORE’s Policy and Advocacy team took to Capitol Hill, meeting with members of Congress and key industry leaders to advance the HOPE Act 2025, our groundbreaking legislative initiative to preserve and rehabilitate critically needed affordable housing.

Lorraine Kindred, vice president of public affairs, and the team met with bipartisan legislators to stress the urgent need for new resources that protect existing affordable housing and ensure future development. Meetings included conversations with Congressman Mike Carey (R-Ohio), as well as Congresswoman Laura Friedman (D-California) and Congressman Jay Obernolte (R-California).

In addition to advocating for affordable housing preservation, the team also advanced conversations around workforce development and high-tech job training, highlighting how National CORE’s programs provide residents with the tools to build brighter futures.

The HOPE Act 2025, which you can learn more about here, is part of National CORE’s larger public affairs strategy to shape policy solutions that directly impact the communities we serve.

As the legislation gains momentum, National CORE will continue to work with Congressman Carey, Congressional partners, industry leaders and community advocates to ensure that affordable housing remains a national priority.
