For over 30 years, National CORE and Hope through Housing have transformed lives by providing homes that foster community and individual growth. This vital work thrives thanks to our exceptional team, whose unwavering dedication we celebrate with the Olen Jones I Am Hope Award. This award highlights long-time team members who tirelessly make a profound difference in the lives of the children, families and seniors we serve, always keeping the well-being of our residents at the forefront.
This year’s honoree, John Taylor, has exemplified this commitment throughout his 26-year journey with National CORE. Starting as a construction superintendent, John rose to become vice president of construction, playing a pivotal role in our first new construction project, Heritage Pointe, which opened in 2002.
“He truly cares about our residents, and it shows in his work,” said Chris Killian, senior vice president of construction. “His passion lies in helping residents and providing opportunities. He’s willing to put in the time and tackle difficult situations to create beautiful homes for our residents.”
John is not only a leader but also a mentor to many, including Chris, who credits John’s guidance for his growth.
“He loves being a mentor and sharing the National CORE vision. He entrusted me with responsibilities, allowing me to learn from mistakes while being there when I needed him.”
As we honor John Taylor’s remarkable contributions, we express our deepest gratitude for his dedication and support. His pursuit of excellence, mentorship and commitment to uplifting others exemplify our belief that everyone deserves a wonderful life.
