National CORE’s Sarah Walker, Cynthia Mejia, Blanca Arellano and Marci Gerez led National CORE’s team at the first community outreach meeting for a senior development proposed by St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Claremont.
Held Feb. 8, the event outlined plans for a 59-apartment community on an underutilized parking lot owned by St. Ambrose.
Nearly 100 residents attended the event. The community includes 28 homes for seniors who have experienced homeless or who are at risk of experiencing homelessness – in keeping with St. Ambrose’s mission to serve its community.
The community meeting was a strong success, engaging residents on questions about the development, our resident selection and the church’s mission.
