Meet Alex Larrondo, winner of our Best in Class first-quarter employee award!

Alex is an information technology specialist at National CORE’S corporate office in Rancho Cucamonga, but his helpfulness extends far beyond the walls of this building.

With every failed printing job, we are happy to have Alex come to our rescue.

With every need for new equipment, Alex is there.

Alex’s career began when he found himself managing IT systems for his brother’s dental practice. He said the experience allowed him to build his knowledge of networks, which would eventually lead him to obtain his degree in IT with an emphasis in cybersecurity from Cal State San Bernardino.

After finishing his schooling in 2021, he jumped from job to job until he landed what started out as a temporary position at National CORE. He recently celebrated his one-year anniversary.
“It’s been great. I really like the company and what people stand for here and how they stand up for the mission,” Alex said.

His workday begins with a quick skim through of the tech requests that have rolled in overnight – the numbers vary daily. Each ticket is different – some requiring more attention than others.

Alex’s approach to these requests tends to be personal, in contrast to the world of machines in which he works. He said that he prefers a style that provides guidance for similar problems users may encounter in the future – it’s a practice he adopted while working at the dental practice.

“Each time I called, I learned something new and that’s how my interest in tech started,” Alex said. “I learned that it’s better not to judge people on what they don’t know. It’s better to teach them how to handle the tools or how to be more resourceful.”

Alex is known for his helpfulness. He goes out of his way to help the employees of National CORE with their computers and even their cars. He said that he simply followed his parents’ example as they are also very helpful people.

“If I have a skill that I can share with others then I do offer it,” he said. “I feel like I’ve always been helpful, and I just like helping.”
